Peter walking on Water

Minutes 1-3: Review the Story of Peter walking on water

·      Summarize Matthew 14:22-33

o   One evening, after miraculously feeding 5,000 people, Jesus sent His disciples ahead in a boat while He stayed behind to pray. As night fell, a storm arose, and the disciples struggled against the strong winds and waves. In the early hours of the morning, they saw Jesus walking toward them—on the water! Shocked and afraid, they thought He was a spirit, but Jesus reassured them:  “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.” (Matthew 14:27) Moved by faith, Peter asked Jesus if he could come to Him on the water. Jesus invited him to step out of the boat. At first, Peter walked across the waves, but when he noticed the fierce wind, fear took hold, and he began to sink. In desperation, he cried out:  “Lord, save me!” Immediately, Jesus reached out His hand and caught Peter, saying:  “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”Together, they climbed into the boat, and the storm ceased. The disciples, now in awe, worshiped Jesus, saying:  “Truly, thou art the Son of God!”
